Description:

Domino is a style with a soft look. It allows to fine adjust the shininess of the widgets by customizable color gradients.

Changelog:
0.4
* new option for indented / non indented menu items
* new option for highlighted tool button icons on mouse over
* the button look for tool(bar) buttons is now optional
* new rubberband options
* smaller tabWidget margins
* respects Gwenview's / Kicker's taskbar applet / Konversation's own mousewheel handling for scrollviews
* clipped popup menu edges, for a better look with KWin's shadows (Beryl seems not to support it).
* fixes pixmaps on PowerPC architecture
* fixes functionality of some popup QToolButtons and adapts their look and behavior to KToolBarButtons
* the content of popup menus with a side pixmap is visible again (Amarok, Digikam)
* adapts KMenu's section header style
* fixes Kickoff's tab icon alignment
* fixes possible crash with enabled text effect
* lets apps using their own label colors on tabs (if they're not defaulting to a fixed color like konsole)
* decoration: option "dark window frame" draws a darker frame
* decoration: borders are hidden when in maximized mode and moving / resizing of maximized windows is not allowed.

Configure Domino > General
under "Draw a shadow on pressed sunken buttons" "Button Typ:" should read "Button Type:"

Great theme!

One more suggestion, add tooltips for all options. For example, I don't know what Rubber band is...

It's the selection rectangle you get when you select certain items (for example various icons in konqueror by drag & drop)

I love this theme. great work. I think this should be one of the included themes with kde.

Looks great, but the digikam issue still exists in my build. Any thoughts on when this might be fixed?

hmm looks like there is an issue with gtk apps using this theme from gtk-engines-qt. the ends of the scrollbars are corrupted. not sure if this is dominos fault, but i checked the website and apparently its on there as a bug.

When holding down ALT, the scroll wheel should scroll horizontally, but it doesn't when this style is enabled.

a good choice for default in KDE 4.
i used QtCurve a look time, but i really like the style of the popup-menus and info-bubbles when hovering above Icons etc., I am looking forward on improvements relating the configuration menu, maybe speed, and features.

it is already my choice now :)
thx

Nice now I can have Milky lookalike on kde, hooray! \o/

Only thing it's missing is the ability to set the frame (the 1px frame you can only set with "Dark window frame" option) to black.. ;)

First off, thanks for this incredibly beautifull style, together with DominoLightGrey this really put my desktop up to par with the best of OS X and Aero.

The only slight nusiance I found is that on some webpages konqueror crashes with the following backtrace, i looked into the code quickly but it's a little to complicated for me. I suspect the pixmap=0x0.

If you need more information you can email at remco dot bloemen at gmail dot com. I hope the following backtrace is helpfull:

I suggest the following possibility. Whatever button on the toolbar appear only when you mouse cursor. Ordinarily, on the toolbar should only be icons. Of course, it should be optional.

hi,
first of all really thanks for this great theme :D

but what about to add an option to set the button and tabs squared, instead of rounded? (and why can i set the tabs only centered)

thanks :D

When i use Domino style all programs has NO horizontal mouse scroll (when the style is changed, everything works as expected).

For example in Gwenview in fullscreen mode there is neigher horizontal nor vertical mouse scroll, and i cannot change the pictures (though the scroll buttons are expected to do that).

My mouse is 5 button with 2 scroll wheels and is configured as needed (it works ok with the other styles).

MOUSE: A4 WOP-35
SYSTEM: Gentoo;

QT: 3.3.6

Will be fixed in the next version. But since I can't find out which mode gwenviev currently uses, smooth scrolling will only work with the scrollbars.

Hi! Your theme looks cool. I have it installed on my Gentoo, but I want to have it on my FreeBSD. And here's a little trouble: I'm unable to compile it! ./configure does not report any error but when I type make it starts configure again, and then I get something like that:
domino.moc:155: error: expected `,' or `;' before '{' token
domino.cpp:7247: warning: unused parameter 'icon'
domino.cpp:7061: warning: unused parameter 'QRect'
domino.cpp:7026: warning: unused parameter 'icon'
domino.cpp:6908: warning: unused parameter 'color'
domino.cpp:1956: warning: unused parameter 'QRect'
domino.cpp:1831: warning: unused parameter 'QRect'

*** Error code 1

And much more...
Can you fix it or tell me what's wrong with my kde?

hi,

i just saw how bad the theme looks with konsole:

hope this is fixable?

Report

another thing, the domino smoothscrolling hack (which i love...) breaks smooth scrolling in konqueror if it's already there (eg it goes a lot less smooth). archlinux has kdemod packages which include this smooth-scrolling-for-khtml hack, as do (afaik) kubuntu and some others. domino takes over, and well - the original effect is much more smooth...

for example, try to auto-scroll the window (shift-downarrow) and use the scrollwheel with and without smoothscrolling to 'on' in domino. observe the difference... i prefer the 'suse' khtml scroll.

from konsole/main.cpp:
COMPOSITE disabled by default because the QApplication constructor
needed to enable the ARGB32 visual has undesired side effects.

I guess this explains it. Konsole's noargb option will fix it for now, and also the issue with the transparent background ;)
Maybe it will be fixed (as a side effect) in the coming (bugfix) release, but this is just a guess.

Does the smooth scroll hack interfere with domino's or is it just replaced?
I have here opensuse in QEMU running and it looks like it is replaced (as it should be), but I can't say it for sure, since everything is a bit slow.
People have divided opinions on the smooth scrolling, some will accept the slowness, which comes from the smoother scrolling, and others not. Domino tries to take the middle way, which is imho not so bad.
