login-scan 'fusion'
KDM3 Themes
Description:

IMPORTANT:

this kdm-theme was made to be used with the splashscreen 'login-scan 'splash'' based on the 'Fingerprint' by moodwrod!

this should be the attempt to combine kdm with kde-splashscreens.
so you should try to install the splashscreen and see what happens (:

see
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=26888

enjoy!

THANKS to moodwrod :)

Installed it on my frugalware KDE 3.5.10 desktop with the wallpaper, and works like a charm!

I just did some minor changes in the .xml file to move some elements which did not fit perfect for me ;) .

Anyway, great job, thanks.

really awesome work!!!!!
to the installation:
i found the themes directory for kdm in
"/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/"
while the kmdrc configuration file is located in
"/etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc".
My os is kubuntu 6.06 with kde 3.5.2
can´ t verify if this is a distro based difference...dunno

Can you modifiy the theme so that samba logins are enabled. At the moment the theme complains it is not compatible with samba login. Good work work nevertheless.

Easiest way:

1. Unpack contents into an empty directory.
2. Become root.
3. Enter
./configure && make && make install

That's it.

First, great theme. I love it.
I will stick with this for a long time.
I have also the matching splash screen for it.
On thing tho', I would like to have the background without the hand and the tech box thing as walpaper.
Anyone knows where to get it?
O even how to make one by "substracting" Background_transparent.png from Background.png ...
I do not have the knoledge to do that but I'm willing to learn.

Has anyone thought about releasing a version of this theme, which is fantastic BTW, for higher resolutions? Things look a bit funny on my desktop at 1600x1200.

I have installed your theme with no problems. I also installed the "login-scan-splash" and KDM Theme Manager without problems.
But when i try to login as root with this theme it says in a popup box "root logins not allowed".

Any ideas as to why this is???
thanks

This is actually a KDM Option.

I thought I remembered seeing an option for this in the KDM config however I don't see it any more.

in your kdmrc file (this is where mine is /usr/kde/3.5/share/config/kdm/kdmrc)

You'll find this:
AllowRootLogin=false

Change it to say:
AllowRootLogin=true

The label of username field doesn't fit very well inside login box if you use a diferent language, in my case portuguese.
The same thing happens with kspash theme messages.
