Description:

Theme that you have downloaded is a continuation of an effort to create KDE
Theme that would look exactly like Microsoft Windows XP. With this theme, you
can use WindowsXP alike startup screen (so called splash screen).

Linux etc. are not about being non-microsoft. They are about freedom of expression and doing what you like.

If someone likes the Microsuck GUI and wants to immitate, knock yourself out.

Personally I don't much care for the Microsoft GUI, hence I don't download any of the themes that immitate XP.

Simply put, if you don't like it, don't download it. No need to give anyone crap for doing something they like....

Anyway, that's my $0.02 worth

Cheers,
Henry

Hear, hear! Look guys, Micro$oft flubs it because they see an OS as a consumer product more than anything else, so the emphasis is on packaging and appearance.

Linux follows the Unix mentality: make it work, then anyone can come along later and make it pretty.

M$ wants you to do it their way, Linux (like perl) lets you do it however you want. Like the man said, freedom of choice

Have you ever tried showing a ten year old how to use Linux for simple things like surfing the web, emailing and writing letters. I welcome anything that makes it easier for my brother to use! Fair enough, some people may not like it, but for a kid who's brought through school seeing nothing but Windows and the odd Mac during music lessons, a bit of familiarity is great.

Yeah!

The point with linux is that it is NOT micro$oft who made it...

The same goes with mac.

Sorry to burst your ppl's bubble, but it's the truth.

Hey, some people *do* like the way other OSs, including Windows, look. Remember how one of the great things about open source projects is that people are free and able to customize things a lot more than in most commercial environments? That very fact is what makes it possible and acceptable for people to create themes that clone the appearance of other environments!

Fine, maybe you don't like Windows. DON'T INSTALL A WINDOWS THEME THEN. You don't have a right to tell programmers, artists, or whatever not to do something just because you don't like it.
